Will a rabbit go through a cat flap without assistance?

...and does it need to be trained or will it work it out? Will a rabbit go through a cat flap without assistance?
I would guess it would figure it out ok if there was food on the other side of the flap.

Due you mean a wild one or a domesticated one? Will a rabbit go through a cat flap without assistance?
Why do you want the bunny to go though the cat flap? Where is the cat flap? Has the bunny bonded to you yet? Do you want the bunny to go inside and outside through the cat flap on it's own? Where does the cat flap lead?

The answer can depend. If you want your bunny to go outside on it's own, you'll have to train it. Use the food method that someone else mentioned. If the cat flap leads to the streets, you shouldn't let your bunny go out on it's own, as it might get hit by a car, injured or it may become lost. But if you are closely bonded to your bunny, you can let it go free through the flap. However, I wouldn't risk losing my bunny.

You can let the bunny go through the cat flap if it leads to the backyard, but make sure your backyard is fenced, or it might run away. Rabbits are excellent diggers, so it might escape by digging a hole in your backyard.

But if you still want your bunny to go through the cat flap on it's own, I suggest you train it with the food method. You can leave the bunny inside and put the rabbit food outside, so that your bunny goes outside regularly.
It will once you showed it how to...

Show it once or twice for 3 days and then the rabbit will always know... they have great memories are are NOT thick. My rabbits are living proof.

You can show it how to go through a cat flap by putting treat near the flap and while it's eating the treat go to the other side of the flap, lift the flap up and wait for the rabbit to finish eating. once it has finished put some treats near it's face and then pull the treat towards you and the rabbit will follow. There your rabbit has walked through a cat flap... Do this twice everyday for 3 days.
I bought one of those kitty litter igloo things for our rabbit

It had a flap on the front and she just plain refused to use it... took the flap off and she was fine, used the litter box like a charm
it will never work it out

rabbits are very thick but they can be trained to do stuff
